The Matrix Model

Event Description

The Matrix Model

The Matrix Model® is a comprehensive evidence-based treatment practice that has been used to treat those with substance use disorders for over 30 years. This training overview will offer the participant knowledge on what the model is and how it serves substance users and specifically it’s success with Methamphetamine users. Comprehensive as well as intensive, the Matrix Model® covers individual/conjoint therapy, early recovery skills, relapse prevention, family education, social support, and drug screening strategies, with participation in a Twelve Step program encouraged throughout. There will also be discussion on the Matrix Model for Criminal Justice Settings® and its practice in a variety of correctional settings including jails, community corrections, probation programs, drug courts, and prisons with the structure of an evidence-based treatment experience that combines education on both substances use and criminal thinking and behaviors.
